About Gabrielle Alexander
“I have a huge passion for women’s health care. I want to take care of women as a whole – I like every aspect of it,” says Gabrielle Alexander, M.D. “I facilitate well-woman care, pregnancy care, delivering that patient and still getting to care for her throughout her life – for example, if she wants to become pregnant again or if she has questions in between plus that life expectant management of care. In the future, I can take care of her children as they grow older; I want to take care of a patient and their family.”
Dr. Alexander has a passion for working with women in all phases of life. She is compassionate and enjoys devoting time to establish relationships with her patients. “I can sit down and relate to patients. We connect and have a conversation. I listen to what they want and need. I develop a rapport with them and get a sense of what they’re looking for from me so I can provide them the best care.” Dr. Alexander was born and raised in Jamaica. After high school, she moved to Florida with her family. “Moving to Florida was hard at the time, but it made me stronger and it’s easier to adapt to other places.” Prior to joining Providence, she lived in New York with her partner and French bulldog. They moved to the Northwest after visiting for a friend’s wedding. “We fell in love with Portland – how beautiful it is and we can do a lot of outdoor activities.” In her spare time, Dr. Alexander enjoys camping, hiking, spending time on the water, and traveling. Their dog goes everywhere with the couple. She is interested in improving her Spanish and learning to play an instrument.
