About Alia E. Soulek
Alia is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner who joined Providence Spokane Cardiology in September of 2020. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012 from South Dakota State University. She spent 7 years nursing at Sacred Heart Medical Center in the cardiology department. She went on to receive her Doctor of Nursing Practice-Family Nurse Practitioner degree with a certification in Nursing Leadership from Washington State University in May of 2020. Alia is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. My philosophy of care is centered around shared decision making with patients. I believe collaborating with patients in their health care decisions provides autonomy, builds relationships, and empowers the patient. The most important role for me as a provider is to show advocacy, compassion, integrity, and communicate guideline driven evaluations and medical interventions with patients. I was born in Sioux Falls, SD and moved to Spokane in 2012. I am a sports fanatic and enjoy being involved in local community sports. I have volunteered for Hoopfest with my wife, working in the Nike merchandise tent, for the last 6 years. Our hobbies include playing basketball, golf, and running our little farm just outside of Cheney.

This experience was exceptional because the care team was adjusting the parameters of my pacemaker to hopefully improve it's performance for my activities. This was done to address a question from me via MyChart (i.e., questionnaire should consider many patients do not phone). This is my 5th pacemaker and expert knowledge is needed to properly select the various parameters which is complicated by the uniqueness of the various brands and models. The entire experience was very good and I believe that the adjustments made have improved the pacemaker performance.
