About YaoYao G. Pollock

Dr. YaoYao Pollock is a geriatric oncologist with dual training in both geriatric medicine and hematology/oncology. She received her medical degree and internal medicine residency training at Johns Hopkins. She then completed fellowship training in Geriatrics at University of Michigan before completing her fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology at University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Pollock’s clinical and research focus is in older adults with cancer and genitourinary cancers. She has presented her research nationally and internationally and was recognized with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit Awards in 2015 and 2019, for her research to improve cancer care for older adults. She was also awarded the National Institute on Aging (NIA) T32 Research Fellowship for her research on older adults with prostate cancer. Given her clinical expertise in both geriatrics and oncology, she brings a unique perspective to the care of all of her cancer patients. Upon joining the St. Joseph Health Medical Group, she is leading the development of a geriatric oncology program within the Providence St. Joseph Health System to improve the care delivery and outcomes of older adults with cancer. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time with her family.
