About Kevin C. Parvaresh

Dr. Parvaresh is an orthopaedic surgeon who is subspecialty trained in sports medicine with an emphasis on hip arthroscopy. His clinical expertise includes shoulder injuries and arthritis, hip injury, and complex knee pathology along with general trauma and fracture care. As a native of Southern California, Dr. Parvaresh recognizes the unique lifestyle and functional demands of the community. Attending medical school at Georgetown on the East Coast, residency at U.C. San Diego on the West Coast, and fellowship at Rush in the Midwest, he brings a diversity of training experience to the practice.

As a sports medicine physician, Dr. Parvaresh provides community sports coverage to local and regional teams. He is the team doctor for Orange Lutheran High School, treating a variety of sports injuries and coordinating sports rehabilitation. He is passionate about maintaining youth participation in sport, being the founder and president of the Washington, D.C. Youth Engagement in Sport organization during his medical school years.

Spending an additional year for a research fellowship, he has learned to critically evaluate the literature to optimize patient outcomes. His research goals focus on optimizing patient outcomes for sports pathologies, with a special interest in shoulder and hip instability. He has authored numerous publications and presented at local, regional, and national conferences.

Dr. Parvaresh is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopic Association of North America. He participates in multiple meetings on an annual basis and is engaged in current technological and surgical advances in the field of orthopaedics. He is also a faculty member for the Hoag Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship, actively training future surgeons for a career in sports medicine.

Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family - his wife Kari, his son Owen, and his dog Poa.
