For Katy Bochat, D.O., her own personal experience as a patient was her initial motivation to pursue a career in medicine. Her doctor became one of her role models when Katy was just 10 years old. As she got older, she realized that she wanted to help other people, just as her doctor had done for her.
In her practice, Katy is passionate about health promotion and disease prevention, which to her is the foundation of primary care. Her focus is on disease prevention and wellness, with a philosophy of care that centers around nutrition and exercise to help patients achieve optimal health. “My most important role as a provider is to partner with each patient to achieve his or her health goals,” she says. Building lasting relationships is what she enjoys most as a medical provider. In addition, Katy has clinical interests that include women’s health and pediatrics.
Katy earned her medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Oregon. She completed her residency at Southern Colorado Family Medicine.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Katy still has a love for good cheese. She and her husband fell in love with the Pacific Northwest while they both were attending medical school in Oregon. Together, they enjoy just about any activity in the outdoors, including hiking, skiing, and trips to the coast. Katy also has a love for horseback riding, gardening, and trail running with her dog.
