Dr. Booker was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. He developed an interest in medicine at an early age and started working as a phlebotomist when he was seventeen. Dr. Booker continued working in the medical field while attending Southern Illinois University where he earned his Bachelor’s in Physiology. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois in 1988 and then completed his residency in family medicine at Oregon Health and Science University in 1991. In September of 1999, Dr. Booker joined the team at Family Medical Group Northeast.
Dr. Booker promotes preventive health care, including a balanced diet along with a consistent exercise plan to all of his patients. He encourages his patients to be involved and engaged in the decision making related to their health. He invites diverse individuals to join his practice as he supports people from all backgrounds. Dr. Booker strongly believes in providing a safe and comfortable environment for all of his patients and is currently accepting new patients of all ages.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Booker enjoys skiing, hiking, photography, scuba diving and world travel. His ambition has always been to have visited more countries than his age as he enjoys exploring different cultures. Dr. Booker is involved in several professional medical associations and spends time giving back to his community. His other interests include gardening, working on household projects, and spending time with his family and his Vizsla, Bodhi.
