About Carol R. Guthrie

Dr. Carol Guthrie is a breast cancer surgeon in Spokane, Washington. After receiving her bachelor’s degree at Stanford University, Dr. Guthrie attended UCLA School of Medicine and went on to complete her general surgery residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She then went on to complete two years of additional fellowship training at USC before returning to her Eastern Washington roots in 1994. Dr. Guthrie founded the Spokane Breast Center in 2001 and is passionate about providing state of the art, comprehensive and personalized breast cancer care to every patient she sees. She gets to know her patients well to ease their breast cancer journey from diagnosis to treatment, recovery, and long-term survivorship. To achieve the best results, Dr. Guthrie utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to delivery compassionate care that addresses each patient’s individual needs. Dr. Guthrie has authored many articles in peer review journals and has presented at national, international, and local meetings.

When not caring for breast cancer patients; Dr. Guthrie can be found outdoors enjoying hiking, biking, water skiing and cross-country skiing. She grew up in Richland, WA and returned to eastern WA in 1994 with her husband. They have three grown children.
