Rebecca L. Armour, MD

EyeHealth Northwest is excited to welcome Dr. Rebecca L. Armour to our Westside Practices. She comes to us with eight years experience as an ophthalmologist at Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University, where she treated a wide range of eye conditions, such as macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy, and has served as Director of Comprehensive Ophthalmology. Dr. Amour enjoys caring for her patients over time and getting to know them. She loves to help people improve the quality of their life by achieving better eyesight. She was named one of Portlands Top Doctors in 2014 by Portland Monthly Magazine. Dr. Amour is experienced in complex cataract surgery and advanced intraocular lens surgery. Her special area of interest is the surgical management of cataracts in patients with complicated underlying eye diseases such as retinal disease, inflammatory eye disease, and glaucoma. During her time as Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at OHSU, Dr. Armour served as Associate Residency Program Director and was instrumental in training the next generation of ophthalmology residents to be excellent physicians and surgeons. She also served as Director of Medical Student Education in Ophthalmology. At OHSU she received Distinguished Service Awards and Teaching Awards. She is an Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Armour grew up in Michigan, and received her undergraduate degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, and her M.D. from Michigan State University. She completed an ophthalmology residency at Casey Eye Institute, OHSU. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, violin, and spending time with her husband and three children.
