Edie's focus in nutrition is for cancer care covering all aspects including cancer prevention, the cancer treatment journey and survivorship. She currently works as the oncology dietitian at Providence Cancer Center for Providence Health & Services in Portland, Ore. She is responsible for nutrition consultations as referred from Providence Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Clinic, Providence Radiation Oncology, Providence Cancer Center Hematology and Oncology Care Clinic-Eastside Portland, the RENEW weight management research study, as well as supporting the Providence Portland Medical Center oncology in-patient program as a clinical dietitian. Edie began her focused career in oncology nutrition ten years ago. Her past areas of practice include cardiac care, heart and lung transplant, general medicine patient care, and nutrition education materials development for high school and college age students. Edie received her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in nutrition at Washington State University. Since 1989, her career as a registered dietitian nutritionist has always been focused on nutrition education for patients, clients and health care providers. She is a certified specialist in oncology nutrition. She has been an active leader within her state and local dietitians' professional association, including holding office of Portland President and Oregon State Media Representative. When not working, Edie finds pleasure with biking, golfing, gardening, and teaching her daughter to be a "little chef" in the kitchen.
