Dr. Hoyer is a Board-certified pediatric cardiologist. He grew up in Massachusetts with his twin brother and younger sister. He earned his bachelor's degree at Yale University. He went to medical school at the University of Massachusetts, trained in pediatrics at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC, and then trained in pediatric cardiology at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR, where he took an interest in echocardiography, including fetal imaging. He then did further training at Boston Children's Hospital in Cardiovascular MRI. Dr. Hoyer was an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia until 2013, when he returned to Oregon as a pediatric cardiologist. He is now proud to join the team at the Alaska Children's Heart Center. When he's not working, Dr. Hoyer enjoys spending time with his son and daughter, and running, skiing, biking and swimming.
