About Kim A. Shields
Kim Shields, DO, makes patient education a cornerstone of her care philosophy. "My role as a family physician is to emphasize healthy living," she says. "I strive to educate and encourage management of illness in a way that meets each patient's needs - both physically and mentally."
A fifth-generation family practitioner, Dr. Shields earned her degree in osteopathic medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science University in Fort Worth. She completed her residency in family medicine at Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Oregon.
Born in Plano, Texas, Dr. Shields enjoys hiking, playing "mind-intensive" games and doing crossword puzzles in her off time. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
