Virginia G. King, MD

"I like to work together with my patients to create a care plan that works for each person as a unique individual." Dr. Virginia King specializes in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence and pelvic pain due to pelvic floor dysfunction. Her research focuses on understanding the connection between fibromyalgia and some common pelvic floor symptoms. Dr. King chose her specialty because she wanted to help women with pelvic floor disorders, who often have been living for years with negative symptoms. She is happy when she is able to help patients improve their quality of life. A native Oregonian, originally from Roseburg, Dr. King moved to Portland in grade school. She completed her residency at Duke University in North Carolina and returned to Portland for subspecialty training at OHSU. In her leisure time, Dr. King enjoys spending time with her husband, son and extended family that live in the area. She also likes running, eating good food and walking in Portland's unique neighborhoods.
