I am committed to supporting and encouraging my clients to accept themselves non-judgmentally, to live mindfully in the moment, to learn and master coping skills that can improve the quality of their lives. I believe we can't change people; we can only aid people in creating changes they desire. I have extensive (20+) years of experience in the mental health field, treating a variety of problems, including mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, grief issues, trauma/PTSD, chemical dependency issues, unhealthy eating habits, relationship concerns, problems related to aging. I use the dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) approach, teaching my clients mindfulness skills, emotion regulation skills, distress tolerance skills and interpersonal effectiveness skills. I practice what I teach, so I know that it works.
