About Nancy Eastwood

Nancy Eastwood, RN, became interested in medicine because her father was a family physician. "We lived above his office and I always wanted to be a pediatric nurse from my earliest memory," says Nancy. In her practice, Nancy emphasizes feeding a child is the primary focus with as much breast milk as the mother can produce. "My most important role is assuring the baby is gaining weight adequately and that the mother is recovering from her delivery. I enjoy teaching parents about their healthy newborns and normalizing their concerns to help alleviate the stress of new parenthood." Nancy's philosophy of care is "doing your personal best is good enough." "How and what you feed your baby is not the most important thing," she says. "A well fed baby is an easier baby to manage." Nancy, a breast cancer survivor, is an avid runner and a yoga enthusiast. She has been a practicing nurse for a very long time and like to assure patients they are in good hands. She loves nursing and looks forward to her work every day. Born in Waterbury, Conn., Nancy has worked in some of the most prestigious pediatric teaching hospitals in the world: Yale New Haven, Boston Children's, LA Children's, Cedar-Sinai, UCLA and Seattle Children's. She is widowed and enjoys speding time with her two married children, participating in yoga and cycling. She is also a breast cancer survivor.
