About Ashkan Soleymani

Dr. Soleymani completed his undergraduate education at Brooklyn College with a Bachelor in Chemistry. He then attended prestigious New York College of Podiatric Medicine and Foot Clinics of New York where he graduated Cum Laude with degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. Following his doctorate, he completed a combined three-year surgical residency training at Cornell affiliated New York Methodist Hospital. During his residency, he trained extensively in foot, reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. He has performed over 2000 procedures involving foot and ankle. While in training, he has been trained in plastic and cosmetic surgery. During last year of his residency, Dr. Soleymani was elected chief resident and subsequently graduated in 2002. He relocated to California and began his family in Beverly Hills and started his own practices in Los Angeles. Since inception of his practices, he has focused on perfecting podiatric surgery techniques to achieve a balance between structural and aesthetic part of foot and ankle surgery which has been given little or no attention. Many foot and ankle surgeons fail to address two important aspects of foot and ankle surgery. Primarily the post-operative pain and secondly cosmetic appeal of surgery. "I have come across many patients who are afraid to undergo bunion surgery as they have been warned by family, friends and co-workers of post-operative pain". I also have patients who enter into my practice with horrible scars to the foot. Both these issues stem from poor tissue handling and surgical techniques. With proper pre-operative pain management and tissue techniques, the post-operative pain is greatly reduced. My patients virtually have no pain following bunion surgeries.
