About Marla M. Klein

Marla Klein MD is a physician who is Board Certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology. She is currently a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Beyond her internal medicine training, she completed three additional years of intensive training in an accredited residency program focused only upon the skin. She has been in private practice in Portland Oregon since 1997. She started treating patients with collagen and Botox® in 1998. She was also mentored and trained in tumescent liposuction in 1998 by Drs. Robert Matheson and Jeffrey Klein. In 2000, Dr. Klein pursued further training in fat transfers. In 2004, Sculptra™ was FDA approved for use in the United States, and Dr. Klein immediately recognized the similarity in treatment plans between fat transfers and Sculptra™. What stood out most was that Sculptra™ had less down-time, and no need for the prior liposuction to have filling material. In 2005, Dr. Klein was fortunate enough to be selected for special training with the French expert, Dr. Danny Vleggaar, in Sculptra. This special training provided better perspective into the technique as well as focused on the many “don’t do’s” that one needs to be aware of when injecting Sculptra. Since then, Radiesse and Juvederm have been FDA approved for cosmetic use. In 2006, Juvederm received its FDA approval, and then in 2013 Voluma finally came on the USA market after a long waiting period. Voluma is a complete game-changer for the cosmetic world. Instant gratification, long-lasting, reversible, minimal downtime, and nearly painless. Dr. Klein is now very accomplished at creating a natural-looking result. Many people report looking 5, 10, even 15 years younger than they did before Dr. Klein started her artistry with Voluma. She is a master at the art of Voluma. Combination of surface treatments with lasers or chemical peels, and dermal and subcutaneous treatments with fillers provides the most optimal outcome of all.
