Dr. Charles Douville enjoys having the opportunity to care for patients and help them return to good health. In his practice he emphasizes "excellence in surgical outcomes while caring for each person as an individual." Dr. Douville is committed to treating his patients as he would want his own family treated. "It is important to have respect for the individual and his or her autonomy," he says. "Our role as surgeons is to offer options and be sure they are understood, and then advise what in our opinion is the best option."
Board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Douville earned his medical degree from UCLA School of Medicine and completed his internship and surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his thoracic surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
With more than 21 years of experience, his special expertise includes multiple atrial grafting in coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve surgery, carotid artery surgery, and endovascular treatment of aortic disease.
