I received my medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. I completed my residency in ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee and a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the University of Minnesota. I entered medicine because I enjoy the combination of science and personal interaction with patients. My family and I moved to green and lush Oregon back in 2006 from the Midwest, and I am happy to call it home. I am a comprehensive Ophthalmologist and find it rewarding to treat patients of all ages, as eyesight and eye health is very important to everyone. My particular area of interest is cataract surgery, and medical and surgical treatment of corneal diseases. I like being a part of The Portland Clinic team because of the highly educated and caring group of providers we are. I thrive by living an active lifestyle and taking advantage of all the beautiful Northwest outdoors has to offer. After working hours you can find me either hiking, biking, cross country skiing or camping with my family and friends. Dr. Malecha was elected as a top doctor in Portland Monthly’s 2015-2018 “Top Docs and Nurses” feature.
