Dr. Petrisor is a board-certified surgeon with training in microvascular reconstructive surgery, head and neck surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery. He holds a dental degree from Oregon Health & Science University and a medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. In addition to medical school, he also completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Following residency, Dr. Petrisor completed a fellowship in head and neck surgery and microvascular reconstructive surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He then completed an additional fellowship in microvascular reconstructive surgery at the University of Florida-Jacksonville. Dr. Petrisor has a special interest in treating patients with benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck. He also has training in reconstruction of complex deformities of both hard and soft tissues. This combination of advanced training allows for a patient's own tissues to be used for reconstructive surgery at the same time as their cancer surgery. Additionally, he is part of a team of physicians, dentists, nurses, nutritionists, therapists and social workers all working together to provide each patient the latest in comprehensive treatments for a variety of cancers of the mouth, head and neck.
