Dr. Hapke entered gastroenterology practice in 1998 with Hillsboro Gastroenterology, and remained with that group from 1998 until December 2011. He joined Northwest Gastroenterology Clinic in January, 2012. Dr. Hapke is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Hapke is interested in integrative digestive and liver health. He feels this concept involves a journey undertaken with patients as they approach wellness and disease in a way that respects multiple aspects of their medical care. He believes allopaths (western medicine), naturopaths, chiropractors, herbalists, therapists, acupuncturists, and others play an important role in our health and healing; specifically, with issues like small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), functional bowel disorders (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and hepatitis B and C. He and his wife have two children and enjoy the Pacific Northwest.
