Physician Assistant Alexis Griffiths started her career in cancer research at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. “I found the experience important and rewarding, but I missed interacting with people,” she says. “Medicine is a way to use my science background while working with and helping patients every day.”
In her practice, Alexis emphasizes prevention and encourages patients to take an active role in their health care. “In addition to providing compassionate care, educating patients is one of my most important roles,” she says. “Ensuring that patients understand their condition and treatment plan is imperative to them playing an active role in their health. I love seeing patients feel better!”
Alexis earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Oregon Health & Science University.
When she’s not at work, Alexis enjoys spending time with her family and their German Shorthair Pointer. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking, gardening, canning, and playing piano. She has a special talent for growing exceptionally large zucchinis and loves humor.
