About Peter-Brian Andersson

Peter-Brian Andersson graduated cum laude in medicine from the University of Cape Town in 1986. In 1987 he completed a 1 year internship in internal medicine, surgery and obstetrics and gynaecology at Groote Schuur Hospital Cape Town, where the first heart transplant was done. In 1988 he earned an BSc.Med(Hons) in medical biochemistry at the University of Cape Town as a Medical Research Council Post-Intern Scholar. Between 1988 and 1991 he obtained a D.Phil in experimental pathology at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. He was G.A. Paul Memorial Scholar at University College, Oxford in 1991-2. In 1991-2 he was Yamanouchi Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College, Oxford University. Junior Research Fellowships are awarded to the top 2% of graduates at Oxford University. Between 1992 and 1997 he completed an internal medicine internship and then neurology residency at UCSF where he also served as Chief Resident. He was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in 1997 by the UCSF graduating medical students. He has completed fellowships in multiple sclerosis at UCSF and in neuromuscular disease at Stanford. He served on the faculty at Stanford in the neuromuscular division before moving to the Valley in 1999. He worked at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills for just under a year and then the San Fernando Neurologic Medical Group until 2017 before establishing Neurology Consulting, Inc. He is published in laboratory and clinical neurology and has served as an Ad Hoc reviewer for the journal Muscle & Nerve. He has been listed in Marquis Who’s Who Science and Engineering. He is listed in The Leading Physicians of the World directory. He was selected as a Noticed Expert Network Distinguished Physician. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at UCLA and teaches the residents and medical students. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He has been named a Southern California Super Doctor 2010-2019 and listed in Los Angeles Magazine. He has special expertise in electrodiagnostic medicine, EMG and EEG. Dr. Andersson treats a variety of neurologic symptoms including numbness, weakness, pain, migraine, memory difficulty, seizure and tremor. He is married to Suzie and has 3 children Atticus, Hayden and Sky. He loves tennis and swimming and spending time with his family.
