Becoming a family medicine physician has allowed Dr. Terena Gimmillaro, DO, to do all of the things she enjoys most: building interpersonal relationships, listening to people's stories, thinking through and solving problems, and facing new challenges every day. "My most important role as a provider is to be a good listener," she says.
As for her philosophy of care, she says, "I believe that every individual is unique and deserves individualized attention to create a personalized and achievable care plan."
Dr. Gimmillaro earned her undergraduate degree from Oregon State University in Corvallis and her medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. She completed her internship and residency training with Providence Oregon Family Medicine Residency in Portland.
Born in Upstate New York, Dr. Gimmillaro lived in Southern California for several years before moving to Portland. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading, hiking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She hopes to continue doing volunteer work for medical missions abroad.
