Ted Askwith, PsyD, became a psychologist “to help others live more fully in the midst of the joy and suffering of life,” he says. He emphasizes collaboration, expanding strengths and self-compassion. “I believe people have the capacity to heal themselves and my role is to help clients reconnect with that part of themselves,” he says.
Dr. Askwith is committed to helping people find hope and freedom through evidence-based practices. “I enjoy when my clients discover that they are capable of far more than they thought possible,” he says.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Portland State University in Oregon and his doctoral degree in psychology at Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon. Dr. Askwith then completed his residency in rural Alaska and has received specialized training in anxiety disorders.
Born and raised in Northern Michigan, Dr. Askwith has been living in Oregon for more than 20 years. He loves camping with his family, playing mandolin and exploring wild places.
