Originally from New York, Dr. Bachner received his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and his medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York.
After a Surgery internship at North Shore University Hospital, he completed an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, where he was also Chief Resident under the direction of renowned hand surgeon, Dr. Avrum Froimson.
Dr. Bachner performed fellowships in Orthopaedic Research at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, and in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute. Dr. Bachner specializes in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Surgery, and Reconstructive Surgery of Shoulder, Knee, Elbow, and Ankle.

Dr. Bachner is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America, a member of the Los Angeles County and California Medical Associations, and the California Orthopaedic Association. He has given numerous lectures at local and national meetings and has published numerous scientific articles, and authored Orthopaedic textbook chapters concerning sports injuries, and arthroscopic techniques in shoulder surgery.

Dr. Bachner's personal interests include tennis, skiing, fitness training, and soccer. Previously, he coached in the West Valley Soccer League and served as a team physician for a number of local sports teams. He has volunteered as the Oak Park High School team physician since 1999. Dr. Bachner lives in the Conejo Valley and has been practicing in West Hills since 1993. He is currently available to see patients in both West Hills and Westlake Village.
