About Kate Strooband
“I try to help my patients be well informed and knowledgeable about their bodies, their health care and their choices,” says Kate Strooband, CNM. “I see education as an essential element of my practice, along with shared decision making and intense respect for each woman's story and point of view.”
Kate realized she wanted to be a midwife when she was 18 years old. “I promptly went to nursing school and then got distracted by love and my own babies! I was a labor and delivery nurse for almost twenty years and finally went back to graduate school at age 40. I'm so glad that I finally achieved my goal of delivering babies and caring for women throughout their reproductive lives.” Kate is passionate about health equity and especially loves caring for teenagers. She has two daughters and enjoys music, cooking, reading books, watching great TV and walking her dog.

I was hesitant to come in based on my experience with caregivers at a different place. I felt so safe and understood, which is saying a ton because I do have some phobia of medical situations. I felt good about my reproductive/feminine health which isn't terribly common. I could be entering menopause early and the caregiver made me feel proud and excited. That was amazing. I am so grateful for my visit.
