About Forrest D. Hsu

Forrest Hsu, MD graduated with distinction from Masters of Science in biotechnology at the University of British Columbia as one of the first UBC Green College Fellows in 1997. He went on and worked in the biotechnology industry in Salt Lake City, Utah before returning to medical school where he received his medical degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver in 2004. During his residency in Neurosurgery at University of Calgary in Alberta Canada he completed advanced training rotations in trauma and complex spine at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney Australia and Jackson Memorial Hospital-University of Miami Florida. He is a Canadian Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Board Certified Neurosurgeon since 2011 and completed a Complex Spine Fellowship at the Barrow Neurological institute in Phoenix Arizona in 2012. After joining Anacapa Neurosurgical Associates/Anacapa Surgical Associates he helped establish the neuro trauma and complex spine programs at Ventura County Medical Center an American College of Surgeons accredited Level 2 Trauma Center from 2012-2018. Dr. Hsu’s neurosurgical expertise includes the surgical treatment of the spectrum of cranial and spinal neuro trauma, cranial and spinal tumors, degenerative spinal disorders and spinal deformity tailoring a variety of classic open and evolving modern minimally invasive techniques to individualize the best treatment plan for each patient.
