Jemie Walrod, M.D., chose medicine as a career because it provides her with a fascinating integration of science and people. "I spent a year as a patient navigator for a transtion of care program at a rural family health center, helping patients integrate back into primary care at the clinic after a hospital stay," she said. "This experience helped solidify my commitment to family medicine as I saw the need for comprehensive, continuous, patient-centered primary care." As a provider, Dr. Walrod hopes to be a guide for patients and their families as they navigate sickness and health, finding solutions to challenges and seeking opportunities for growth. After earning her medial degree at McGill University, Dr. Walrod is completing her residency with the Providence Family Medicine Residency Progam. In her free time, Dr. Walrod enjoys everything outdoors, especially running, biking, hiking and skiing.
