About Pavel Mitaru

Pavel Mitaru, DO, lives his life by the same philosophy he shares with his patients. “I have a holistic approach to wellness,” he says, “I strive for physical and mental wellbeing through diet and exercise, and I always promote active relationships with friends and family.” Dr. Mitaru chose to practice medicine because it combines his passion for science and health with caring for people. “I enjoy building partnerships with my patients to identify and meet their goals for health and wellness,” he says.

In his practice, he emphasizes education and a strong physician-patient relationships. “I want my patients to live better, happier lives as a result of our interactions,” he explains. He also enjoys being up to date on the most recent recommendations and treatments for chronic disease and health and wellness. “As we manage chronic disease, we can often avoid prescription medications through lifestyle modifications,” he says.

After earning his undergraduate degree in human physiology at the University of Oregon, Dr. Mitaru completed his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific at Western University of Health Sciences and his residency training at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Mitaru was born and raised in, as he says, “beautiful Portland, Oregon.” In his free time he enjoys a multitude of activities with his wife, daughter, family, and friends—including biking, playing basketball, cooking, painting, playing the cello, and exploring Mt. Hood National Forest.
