About Blake A. Ashley

Dr. Blake Ashley, MD, FACS is board-certified in General Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He specializes in breast, general and colorectal surgery.Dr. Ashley received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 from California State University, San Bernardino with highest honors. He was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, a privilege reserved for the top 10 percent of medical students, and graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1999. Dr. Ashley completed his surgical internship and residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 2004. After completing residency, he joined the surgical team at South Orange County Surgical Medical Group.

Dr. Ashley performs a variety of general surgical procedures and has personally performed over 5,000 operations since joining the practice. He performs laparoscopic, open and robotic surgeries and routinely treats hernias, gallbladder disease, colon disease, anorectal disease, skin/soft tissue disease, abdominal visceral disease and breast disease.

As member of a surgical group, Dr. Ashley believes in a team approach to help work toward the desired patient goal. Through the surgical practice he participates in research to help improve medical care and patient outcomes. He has held a variety of positions with the medical staff of the hospital and surgical center to help promote optimal patient care.

In his spare time, Dr. Ashley enjoys hiking, mountain biking, beach volleyball and traveling.
