Gary A. Baffa, PhD

Dr. Gary Baffa is a clinical psychologist who has worked primarily in hospital and private practice settings. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California where he attended graduate programs in both clinical psychology and developmental aging or gerontology. He is the first Gero psychologist to graduate from USC. He also has a post-doctoral master’s degree in clinical psychopharmacology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant International University. He is an emeritus medical staff member at Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, California, where he served the general hospital’s psychological consultation service needs, provided neuropsychological services to their rehabilitation unit, and was the senior psychologist in their chronic pain management program. His private practice serves clients in late adolescence to older adulthood who may suffer from anxiety, depression, and other psychological adjustment issues, as well as physical losses and grief from medical disorders and disabilities. He primarily utilizes a cognitive-behavioral treatment protocol. He is also trained in behavioral and eye-movement desensitization processing. Dr. Baffa believes that everyone deserves engaging and respectful care and treatment that is customized, comforting, and understanding of their condition, innovative, and research evidence based.
