About Paul A. Beck

Dr. Beck is a Southern California native who has been practicing Orthopaedic Surgery in Orange since 1989. His university studies began at UC Irvine where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in biology. UC San Francisco School of Medicine then followed and is distinctive because he not only received his MD degree but he met his future wife, Huong Duong M.D. Dr. Beck then returned to Southern California and UC Irvine for his Orthopaedic Residency training.

Following residency, in 1989, he joined local Orthopaedic surgeons Donald Ball, M.D. and Christopher Wills, M.D. in Orange. This group later became La Veta Orthopaedic Associates where Dr. Beck practiced for 26 years until. He is now practicing with Orange Orthopedic Medical Group.

Dr. Beck is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with interest in knee and hip replacement, arthroscopy and fractures. He utilizes the MAKOplasty robotic system for hip replacement and partial knee replacement procedures.

In addition to his Orthopaedic Surgery responsibilities, Dr. Beck has held many leadership positions. These include Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Saint Joseph Hospital; President of the Western Orthopaedic Association, Orange County Chapter; Secretary/Treasurer, Saint Joseph Hospital Medical Staff; Vice Chief of Staff, Saint Joseph Hospital Medical Staff; and Chief of Staff, Saint Joseph Hospital. In 2014, he accepted the position of Interim Chief Medical Officer at Saint Joseph Hospital and served in that position until 2017.

Dr. Beck is also an active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the California Orthopaedic Association, California Medical Association and Orange County Medical Association.

In his time off Dr. Beck enjoys traveling with his family, photography and snowboarding. Recently he has also enjoyed going on medical missions in underserved countries.
