Mark Bowles was born and raised in California. He graduated from Canyon High School, a local high school in Anaheim. He then obtained his undergraduate training at Fullerton Community College and Cal State Fullerton in Biochemistry. In 1994, Dr. Mark graduated from UCLA Dental School and began a 1 year residency at the acclaimed UCLA Hospital doing Hospital Dentistry. He learned how to first, manage a very medically challenged patient and second, do dentistry.
In 1995, Dr. Mark relocated his young family back to Anaheim to work with his father who was his cherished friend and mentor growing up. Dr. Mark and Dr. Dean enjoyed working together for about 5 years until Dr. Dean retired. Dr. Dean still enjoys coming into the office almost every day to greet the patients he treated for nearly 40 years. Dr. Dean says “These were not just my patients, they were my dear friends.” Dr. Mark has continued his father’s tradition of enjoying the practice of dentistry but more importantly, he enjoys building and sustaining trusted relationships with his patients.
Dr. Mark feels that treating people is his first priority and treating teeth is his second priority. This has motivated Dr. Mark to seek the highest standard of continuing education available to oral physicians today. He is educated in advanced studies of TMJ, Orthodontics, and conservative Cosmetic Dentistry. He believes in intervention before problems occur. His high moral standards and meticulous attention to detail ensure that all of his patients receive consistent, high-quality dentistry that should be expected from all health care providers.
Dr. Mark loves to learn and stay on top of the constantly changing materials and methods of dentistry. Dr. Mark is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), Orange County Dental Society (OCDS), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), International Association of Orthodontists (IAO), DDS Mentoring (a study group based in implant dentistry), and the Orange County Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (OCACD).
Dr. Mark has been and continues to be a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoys the ethics and value system and the opportunity the scouting program offers young men. In his time off, Dr. Mark enjoys spending time with his family of five children. He and his wife Amanda enjoy camping on the beach.
