About Jack C. Feng

Dr. Feng was awarded Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Phi Beta Kappa, with degrees in biologic sciences and music from the University of California, Irvine, in 1992.

After his undergraduate work, Dr. Feng went on to the Ohio State University where he obtained his medical degree (M.D.) in 1996. He then completed his internal medicine residency from 1996-99 at the UC Irvine Medical Center.

Dr. Feng spent the next three years at the UCLA subspecialty fellowship program, where his emphasis was in advanced and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. He has co-authored a number of journal publications and abstracts. His research work studied the use of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) guided fine needle aspiration in cancer detection and staging. Dr. Feng’s clinical interests include colon cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD), gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, evaluation of abdominal pain, and biliary/pancreatic diseases. He believes in personal and quality care and values patient and family input when faced with challenging clinical decisions.

In 2002, Dr. Feng received his board certification in gastroenterology and hepatology and joined Mission Internal Medical Group. Besides working with patients in the office setting, he also performs a variety of services including consultations and gastrointestinal procedures at Mission Hospital. Administratively, he has served on the Cancer Committee as well as the Medical Executive Committee at the medical center. In 2009, Dr. Feng served as the Chief of Gastroenterology/Endoscopy section at Mission Hospital. In 2007 and 2008, Dr. Feng was honored for placement in the "Guide to America's top physicians."

Outside of medicine, Dr. Feng invests much of his pastime playing and making music. He has sung and recorded in a number of Christian/gospel CD albums. He shares his passion for music with his wife, who is a classically trained pianist and instructor. Dr. Feng serves on the worship ministry at the Harvest Community Church of Irvine. Having emigrated from Taiwan at the age of 10, he is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
