About Brent Nall

Dr. Brent Nall is board-certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been in private practice as gynecologist for more than 30 years. He is a Lubbock native and graduate of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He received his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed his residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio. Dr. Nall believes his patients deserve to know all the diagnostic and treatment options available to treat women’s health issues. He is committed to spending all the time necessary to explain and discuss those options and patient answer questions. As a result, his patients have come to respect and rely on him.

Dr. Nall believes that delivering the most up-to-date care possible is a responsibility of every health care provider but he goes beyond this standard by conducting his own research of new techniques and options that will help provide solutions for women’s health issues. Patients describe Dr. Nall and his staff as very caring and testify that both he and his loyal staff know them personally as people, rather than cases.

When it comes to considering surgical treatment options, Dr. Nall counsels that many patients don’t realize that their women’s care provider may not be specialized in performing surgery. In fact, the majority of OB/GYN’s generally perform only a few surgical procedures per month, as few as 25 a year.

Only a small percentage of the nation’s OB/GYN’s are trained or comfortable performing newer surgical techniques using minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures. While according to studies, OB/GYN’s who perform a high volume of surgeries and devote the bulk of their practices to gynecologic surgery, have the highest rates of positive outcomes.

When choosing a surgeon and hospital for gynecologic surgery, it is critical to make a selection based on a proven track record of positive outcomes. Choosing an experienced gynecologic surgeon can minimize risks and lead to a higher level of patient satisfaction. “Gaining proficiency in the latest surgical techniques requires experience; surgical skill comes from performing a high volume of procedures. Dr. Burkholder and I each perform more than a hundred major surgical procedures a year,” says Dr. Nall. “Statistics show that experienced surgeons deliver better outcomes; lower degrees of postoperative pain and discomfort, quicker recoveries, less time away from work and family, lower medical costs, and increased patient satisfaction.”

Dr. Nall practices at Grace Health System® in the Women’s Health Center providing a wide range of diagnostic services and treatment plans for women’s issues and also provides care for bladder and urinary conditions at the Continence Center. Areas of surgical expertise include laparoscopic procedures and endometrial ablations and he frequently lectures on the issue of irregular menstrual cycles or heavy bleeding.

Dr. Nall is a long-distance runner and cyclist, and has volunteered for many years with the South Plains Food Bank and its “Second Helpings” program, which feeds and supports the homeless.
