About Shahram S. Solhpour

Recognized as one of Southern California's top orthopedic surgeons, S. Shawn Solhpour, M.D., specializes in successfully treating knee and shoulder pain, whether caused by sports injury or early or advanced arthritis conditions. In addition to creating exceptionally high outcomes (as reported by the California Joint Replacement Registry), he has repeatedly won the Patients' Choice Award from a leading national consumer group for his near-perfect patient satisfaction scores.

Dr. Solhpour is highly experienced in all-inside ACL and PCL reconstruction, allowing active individuals of all ages get back to doing the things they love. His expertise also includes innovative approaches to rotator cuff repair and shoulder instability procedures (arthroscopic and open), as well as today's newest advances in knee replacement (partial, dual compartment, and custom procedures). He is also one of the few orthopedic surgeons formally trained in restoring knee cartilage and cartilage transplantation.

Before joining St. Jude Heritage Medical Group, Dr. Solhpour completed his orthopedic residency at Harvard, followed by fellowships in Biological Joint Reconstruction (Brigham & Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School), Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), and Trauma (Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School). Dr. Solhpour is the Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at St. Jude Medical Center for 2017-2018.
