Dr. Cindi Chapman, switched from engineering to medicine during her education and finds her daily interactions with patients fulfilling. Dr. Chapman enjoys dermatology, because of the diversity the specialty has with skin conditions, as well as the visual nature of this specialty. She enjoys dealing with conditions within this organ system, and the opportunity to help patients on a socio-psychological level in dealing with their skin conditions.
Dr. Chapman earned her medical degree from Indiana University and went on to complete her internship with Providence Portland Medical Center and residency with Oregon Health & Science University Dr. Chapman received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Aerospace Engineering.
Dr. Chapman treats both adult and pediatric patients, “my most important role as a physician and dermatologist is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care to all my patients,” she says. “As well as detailed and understandable explanations regarding diagnoses and treatment plans.”
Born on an Air Force base, Dr. Chapman moved throughout the United States and other countries like Spain and Germany. She went on to join the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) where she was an Air Force Officer for five years, before switching to medicine. When not practicing medicine she enjoys staying active and has family in the Portland area.
