Physician Assistant Makkedah Emanuel, has always been interested in medicine since she was young. “I chose to work in family medicine because I love establishing long-term relationships with patients across their lifespan,” she says. Believing in being supportive and honest with patients regarding their health is something that is very important to Makkedah, in order to empower them to take ownership of their health and well-being. She believes her most important role as a provider is to provide quality, evidence-based, compassionate medical care to every patient, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Makkedah loves meeting new people, and being able to help live their best lives. She takes pride in being a compassionate listener and understands that patients have first-hand expertise in their medical concerns. and value being able to combine that with my knowledge in order to make shared decisions. Makkedah earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Oregon Health and Science University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Linfield College. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Makkedah loves spending time with her family and friends. She volunteers her time at the Oregon Food Bank. She loves Latin dancing, traveling, and cooking. She is also fluent in Spanish.
