About David J. Chen

Dr. David Chen completed training in general surgery at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, NY and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, followed by cardiothoracic surgery at New York University Medical Center in New York, NY. His training here was focused on utilizing the robotic surgery platform for a variety of indications in the chest including lobectomy, complex segmentectomy, wedge resection, thymectomy, pleurectomy and decortication.

In addition, Dr. Chen completed a fellowship in surgical oncology and cancer immunotherapy at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health. During this time, he focused his efforts in the laboratory on applying T-cell receptor gene therapy toward solid tumors including lung cancer. Dr. Chen also cared for patients undergoing treatments with cell therapy on clinical protocols.

With this experience, Dr. Chen intends to treat patients with cancer holistically - using the most advanced techniques in the operating room and in the laboratory to provide the best possible care, both on a personal basis and for the population as a whole.
