Mission Hospital Foundation holds several fundraising events throughout the year to raise funds for the hospital. These events range from fashion shows to golf tournaments to a black-tie gala – all providing opportunities for community members to learn more about Mission Hospital and be a part of improving the health and wellness of our community.
For years, people living in our community and visitors from all over the world, have entrusted Mission Hospital with the lives of those most precious to them. We have provided health care to those who needed us in the most critical of times. Mission Hospital has big plans for the future. We're preparing for a vital enhancement of our clinical programs by creating institutes in Cancer, Heart and Vascular, Mental Health and Wellness, Neuroscience, Orthopedics, Trauma and Emergency, and Women and Infants. Estates and Planned Giving
Gift from IRA Minimum Required Distribution (MRD)
If you are over 70 1/2 you can make a tax-advantage gift from your IRA. IRA income is typically taxed as ordinary income. However, when you direct the plan administrator to make a distribution to Mission Hospital, that amount is considered part of the MRD but not taxable. A Tribute Gift is a meaningful way to convey sympathy to the bereaved, memorialize a loved one, commemorate a special occasion or honor someone. If you or a loved one has been a patient, it is also a meaningful way to express gratitude to a physician, nurse or hospital staff member who has made a special impact. A note is sent to the individual being honored - or the family of those memorialized - informing them of the gift and the identity of the donor. The amount of the gift is kept confidential.

As a Mission Hospital employee/caregiver, we invite you to participate in the Caregiver/Employee Giving program by making a personal contribution. Each gift, no matter the size, makes a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
Every dollar donated to Mission Hospital allows us to meet the unique health needs of the individuals in our community by consistently providing the highest quality of care through our distinguished clinical institutes and other programs. Your support shows others in our community that you believe in the life-saving work that occurs at Mission Hospital each and every day. Together, we can continue to make a difference and create hope, healing and wellness in our community.
Donations can support the fund of your choice; Area of Greatest Need, Employee Assistance Fund, Nursing Education, or one of our seven clinical institutes: Cancer, Heart and Vascular, Mental Health and Wellness, Neuroscience, Orthopedics, Trauma or Women's and Infant's.
Note: If you pledged last year and are currently having bi-weekly payroll deductions for this pledge, your deductions will continue into 2019. You do not need to do anything further for this year. However, if you would like to increase your gift or change the fund designation, please do so using the donation button below.

What is the Mission Hospital Caregiving/Employee Giving Program?
Organized by the Mission Hospital Foundation, it is the annual fundraising campaign to encourage caregivers/employees to give back and personally make a difference in the life of a patient, colleague or member of the community. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit Mission Hospital.
Where does the money go?
Donations go directly to the fund that you specify.
If I am in an existing pledge from last year, do I need to re-commit?
How do I make a gift?
When will payroll deduction begin and end?
The first deduction usually take approximately 4 weeks to initiate. If you select a per pay period contribution, your pledge will continue until you notify the foundation to stop deductions.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, your campaign donation is tax deductible to the full extent provided by federal and state law as long as you itemize your deductions. Gift acknowledgement letters will be sent out after the campaign. Note, raffle ticket purchases are not tax deductible. Our Federal Tax ID is: 95-1643360.
Do you accept other types of gifts?
Will the amount of my pledge remain confidential?
Yes, the amount will remain strictly confidential, though employees/caregivers who participate in the campaign will be recognized on the Employee Giving Wall located near the cafeteria on the campus that is selected on your pledge. You may indicate how you would like to be recognized when making your pledge.
Can I change my pledge? What if I leave Mission Hospital?
Yes, you can change your pledge at any time. If your circumstances change and you cannot fulfill your pledge, please contact the foundation. Any pledge will remain in effect as long as you are a caregiver/employee of Mission Hospital. if you leave and would still like to continue your pledge, please contact the foundation.
How much should I pledge?
This is an individual decision. To receive this year's thank you gift, a donation of $100 or more is needed (one-time gift, or over 26 pay periods). Please see the chart below for an example of per pay period giving for one year.
- $3.85 per pay period = $100 per year
- $5 per pay period = $130 per year
- $10 per pay period = $260 per year
- $15 per pay period = $390 per year
- $20 per pay period = $520 per year
- $25 per pay period = $650 per year
- $30 per pay period = $780 per year
- $35 per pay period = $910 per year
- $40 per pay period = $1,040 per year
