Funding Areas

Within our community, the Foundation funds equipment, education, community outreach programs, and other health care programs provided by Providence Centralia Hospital, Providence St. Peter Hospital, Providence Mother Joseph Care Center, Providence SoundHomeCare and Hospice, and Providence Medical Group clinics in Southwest Washington.

Gifts can be designated (restricted) to specific areas of medical care such as cancer, cardiac, neurology, mental health and wellness, rehabilitation, sexual assault, hospice, women’s and children’s services and many others.

Gifts can also be given to a hospital’s area of greatest need through the Centralia Hospital Fund or St. Peter Hospital Fund. These “unrestricted funds” can be accessed by all areas and ministries served by the Foundation. These funds enable the Foundation to respond to a variety of local needs within Providence programs and services at the discretion of the Foundation Board. Patient care services, health education, capital improvements, and ital equipment purchases have all been made possible through grant awards from these funds. A sampling of the facilities or programs that have recently received support from these funds include:

  • Cardiac rehabilitation program support
  • Cancer program support
  • Animal Assisted Activities Therapy programs (PAAAT and PAWS)
  • Hospice respite and comfort care therapies
  • Chemical Dependency program support
  • Sexual Assault Clinic support programs

Ways To Give

Here are just a few of the most common ways to support the Providence Mission here in Southwest Washington.

Cash Gifts

A gift of cash is the most common form of donation to the foundation. We accept cash, personal and business checks, money orders and credit cards. Gifts can also be made online with a credit card or we can set up a recurring gift if you would like to give on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.

Tribute Gifts

Memorial gifts can be made to remember someone special who has passed away. Gifts can be directed toward any interest of the donor. Memorial gifts can be made “in lieu of flowers” or “in addition to flowers” and these statements are easy to include in an obituary or remembrance.

Honor gifts are used to pay tribute to someone special that you know. Donations are made in the name of the person you are honoring, and if yo9u want us to do so, we will notify the honored person of your gift. Honor gifts can also be made to celebrate a special occasion or an event or just about anything that is important to you.

Providence Way

Providence Way is a garden setting near the entrance to St. Peter Hospital, lined with bricks and pavers personalized with the names of those loved and honored. Purchasing a brick, paver or bench in Providence Way is a beautiful and lasting way for you to celebrate or remember important people and events. If you are interested in finding out more or to make a purchase, please contact us by phone at (360) 493-7981 or by email

Providence Caregiver Giving Program

This is an opportunity for Providence caregivers to support the mission beyond their investment of time and talent. By making a philanthropic contribution toward an area most meaningful to them, caregivers directly bless our patients and community with healing resources that save and change lives.

What is the “I Give One Hour” Club? This is a special recognition club for employees who give at least one hour of their pay or more, per pay period (or a one-time donation of the same amount). These employees are given a special badge reel and are recognized on the newly designed Caregiver Giving Donor Wall, located near the Café at Providence Centralia Hospital and Providence St. Peter Hospital.

To make a gift through payroll deductions, please download the Caregiver Giving Form or sign up online. If you would prefer to give by check, credit card, donor advised fund, or gift of stock, please contact the foundation at 360-493-7981 360-493-7981 or email Jennifer Woodford, Annual Giving Officer at
