Covenant Children's Hospital
Sick or injured kids require special care. As the first and only licensed freestanding children’s hospital in Lubbock and the broader region, we provide medical and surgical care for children – and only children. When your child is a patient here, he or she will be treated by specialists who have dedicated their careers to learning about the diseases of children and caring for children.
We are Lubbock, the Panhandle Plains, and the Eastern New Mexico region's only hospital licensed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a children's hospital. Many hospitals that claim to be children's hospitals are not licensed children's hospitals – with the governance, operational leadership and ancillary services that are unique to the children's hospital, ensuring that resources aren't prioritized to adult services. For example, we prioritize board-certified pediatric specialists who have undergone years of kid-specific training, whereas adult-focused facilities often are not willing to make the same investments in quality, kid-focused providers. What being a licensed freestanding children's hospital really means is that we live and breath children's services all day, every day. We don't just dabble in it.
