The Liver and Pancreatic Disease Center in Torrance provides a comprehensive approach to evaluate, counsel and treat patients with gastrointestinal cancers, and other major conditions of the pancreas and liver.

Under the guidance of Dr. Richard R. Lopez, Jr., the center specializes in general surgery and hepatology, and treats a variety of conditions including:

  • Benign and malignant pancreatic lesions
  • Acute and chronic pancreatitis
  • Liver disease and cysts

Dr. Lopez views each patient as a unique individual and develops a personalized treatment plan that often includes anatomic drawings to explain the patient’s situation and the surgical procedures involved. He believes in engaging a patient’s family into conversations about diagnosis and disease management to promote a clear understanding of the care plan for both the patient and family members alike.
