At Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center, we know how frightening it is to be diagnosed with breast cancer. We understand that kindness, caring and thoughtful attention can do as much for the health of your spirit as gifted hands can do for the healing of your body. Our team will by your side every step of the way.
At the Breast Center, we diagnose and treat all types of breast conditions, including cancer. We offer a range of screening and detection services, along with education, support and advanced treatments.
At Providence, we’re committed to women’s breast health. We focus on helping you find breast cancer early and receive the treatment that’s right for you through our Cancer Center.
Your risk for breast cancer increases with age. It’s important to talk with your doctor about when and how you should be screened. Tests we offer to detect and diagnose breast cancer include:
- 3D mammography
- Digital 2D mammography
- Breast ultrasound and ultrasound biopsy
- Stereotactic breast biopsy and tumor localization
- Breast MRI (performed in the Profili Imaging Center)
- MRI breast biopsy (performed in the Profili Imaging Center)
- Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA)
To schedule a mammogram, please speak with your primary care doctor. Once your doctor has placed an order, you may call Central Scheduling at 833-789-6802 to set up your appointment.
Hidden Scar surgery conceals scars. For a Hidden Scar mastectomy, your surgeon makes a discreet incision in the area under your breast called the inframammary fold. For a lumpectomy, the surgeon may make the incision in the inframammary fold, under your armpit or by tracing your nipple. This technique is an alternative to removing the tumor from the skin above its location, which leaves a more noticeable scar on the breast.
Queen of the Valley Medical Center, an Invuity Hidden Scar Center, is proud to partner with Elizabeth Cunningham, MD, F.A.C.S., a board-certified general surgeon who received her fellowship training in surgical oncology and specializes in breast surgery.
We are accredited in mammography by the American College of Radiology. This is a testament to our professional qualifications, technological capabilities, clinical quality, customer service and reporting accuracy. We work to make your screening and diagnostic tests as easy and as comfortable for you as possible.
A team of breast health specialists provides your care through the Breast Center. This includes technologists, radiologists and nurses.
A nurse navigator will be at your side if you receive a breast cancer diagnosis. They guide you through the health care system and help you learn about your specific type of cancer and its treatment options so you have the information you need to make the best decisions about your care. They also help coordinate appointments with your health care team.
