Compassionate Care: Resiliency for Caregiving

May 11, 2022 | 5:30 p.m.

Presented by Sharon Ziff, RN

Preparation aids in building resiliency while meeting the deeper emotional and spiritual needs of declining loved ones. There may come a time when your loved one declines and you’ll need to step in. At first, it may be just a few small things, like helping with the shopping. But eventually, the loved one may need help with personal care and quite possibly the essentials of daily life. Let’s approach this time with curiosity, patience, understanding and love. Preparation may lessen anxiety and stress while strengthening your ability to provide care for your loved one.

  • What are the possible stages of decline and what support will be necessary?
  • How can you discuss some of the changes ahead of time?
  • What tools might you need to best fulfill your role as a caregiver?

After retiring from her 12 year career as a Hospice nurse, Sharon Ziff, RN, has dedicated herself to supporting and educating her community about death and dying. Her authentic passion led Sharon to develop workshops and programs to help individuals and their families prepare for compassionate and conscious end-of-life transitions using body, mind, and spiritual practices.
