Providence Saint John's Health Center
For more than 70 years, Providence Saint John’s Health Center has built a tradition providing award-winning health care and compassionate service. Through your support and generosity, the Saint John’s Health Center Foundation can continue to fuel the Health Center with the latest advances in technology and specialized programs.
We are blessed to have had the support of the following groups for many years.
Irene Dunne Guild
The Irene Dunne Guild, a group of more than 120 dynamic and caring women, encompasses one of Saint John’s most vital philanthropic and service groups. Founded in 1987, the Guild has raised more than $11 million for crucial programs and equipment and remains deeply committed to strengthening Saint John’s for our community. Like their founder, Irene Dunne, Guild members put their hearts forward, finding innovative ways to raise funds, comfort patients, educate their community and nurture Providence Saint John's Health Center's mission of compassionate care.
John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary
The Auxiliary has raised more than $19 million to fund a wide array of the Institute’s priorities including groundbreaking research, vital new laboratory equipment and the nationally recognized Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program, which trains the next generation of surgical oncologists. The Auxiliary also organizes the successful annual Odyssey Ball. The Auxiliary was established in 1982 by two breast cancer survivors, Sandy Cohen and Noreen Nelson and by a group of committed women. The Auxiliary is currently led by president Anita Swift, eldest granddaughter of John Wayne and a dedicated board of 30.

Today, the ABCs is comprised of close to 200 members and is led by president Gloria Gebbia. The group has raised more than $15 million to support breast and prostate cancer research at the Institute. The group holds two events a year, one for Mother’s Day and “The Talk of the Town” gala in November.
