Chief Executive of Providence St. Peter, Centralia Hospital and the Medical Group to retire in March

Medrice has served as chief executive of the Southwest Service Area (SWSA) for more than 10 years. She is an accomplished health care leader and has been an inspiration to caregivers and community members in advancing health care.

“Medrice has helped improve access to care, control costs, and advance community programs and services that exemplify Providence’s Mission to serve the poor and vulnerable,” said Scott O’Brien, chief operating officer for Providence Washington & Montana Region. “She has been instrumental in creating an integrated network of services that provide quality and compassionate care for patients throughout the Olympia and Centralia area. We thank her for her dedicated years of service and wish her well in retirement,” he added. 

“It has been a true honor to serve our Southwest communities,” said Medrice. “As I prepare to retire, I leave the Southwest Service Area in good hands, and with a strong foundation that will carry forward our tradition of caring for the community and our patients with quality and compassionate service,” she said. 

“My greatest joy over the past decade has been working in partnership with Providence Southwest core leaders, caregivers, physicians, community ministry boards, foundation boards, volunteers, patient advisory council, colleagues and community partners. Today, Providence St. Peter and Centralia hospitals and Providence Medical Group are recognized nationally by renowned organizations,” she added.
