More than 260 guests attended the poignant event on April 20, 2019, at Silverado Resort and Spa.

This year’s event honored vintners and philanthropists, Gayle and Jack Daniels, and featured 39 models, all of whom are cancer patients and/or cancer survivors. The models spent weeks practicing for their turn on the runway, having been coached by a dedicated team of volunteers and fashion experts.

Honorees Gayle and Jack Daniels kicked off the afternoon’s Fund A Need with a gift of $25,000, contributing to its $111,000 total. Additional funds were raised from a silent auction that included 68 packages donated by event committee members and community businesses and more than 150 stars purchased to honor a loved one. Sponsorships by individuals and organizations, including Bank of Marin, First Republic Bank, G&J Seiberlich, Laird Family Estates Napa Valley Care Center, Progeny Winery, Queen of the Valley Medical Center, Radiology Medical Group of Napa, Silverado Resort and Spa and Syar also contributed to the grand total.

The event’s proceeds will be used to fully fund the Queen’s Cancer Wellness Program for more than 125 cancer patients, as well to provide other cancer programs and services.

The Cancer Wellness Program offers a personalized exercise plan, three-month membership to Synergy Medical Fitness Center, nutritional counseling and psycho-social and spiritual support.
