24 nonprofit organizations receive gifts from St. Joseph Community Partnership Fund

$500,000 in Donations Mark the Inaugural St. Joseph the Worker Award

July 29, 2021 – The St. Joseph Community Partnership Fund and Providence are proud to announce that 24 nonprofit organizations across the seven states Providence serves have been selected to receive gifts as part of the Fund’s inaugural St. Joseph the Worker award.

St. Joseph the Worker awards are being given to these nonprofit organizations in honor of the Fund’s 35th anniversary. All the awards, totaling $500,000, are being presented to organizations that demonstrate an ongoing commitment to creating a lasting impact on the health of their communities.

The Fund serves as Providence’s strategic grantmaking partner, funding programs and initiatives that make a measurable difference in the areas of housing, education, disaster response and resilience, and capacity building. Through its grantmaking, the Fund is committed to solving complex challenges and building vibrant, healthy communities in partnership with local organizations. The St. Joseph the Worker award is a demonstration of that commitment in practice.

“The Fund supports and empowers nonprofit organizations, residents and community leaders to improve the health and well-being of those in need and to work toward equity. I am incredibly impressed with this year’s cohort of St. Joseph the Worker award recipients and proud to partner with our regions to ensure these organizations have a sustainable presence in their community,” said Gabriela Robles, Chief Executive of the St. Joseph Community Partnership Fund.

“The Fund is committed to partnering with our local communities to serve the most vulnerable among us. The organizations receiving the St. Joseph the Worker award work tirelessly each day to advance equity and improve access to care in their communities,” said Justin Crowe, Senior Vice President, Community Partnerships for Providence. “It is an honor for Providence to be part of this incredible work.”

In 2021, the Fund expanded its reach to support ongoing efforts across the entire Providence system after 35 years of dedicated service in California. The Fund supports programs and communities by partnering with local community health investment teams and regional leaders. It contributes to ongoing initiatives, creates linkages across the system and builds long-term capacity.

St. Joseph Community Partnership Fund (SJCPF) is Providence’s strategic grantmaking partner, investing in the health and well-being of communities across the Providence geographic footprint. Since 1986, SJCPF has worked to reduce health disparities and promote equity by empowering local organizations and community leaders to improve access, strengthen partnerships and build collaboration. SJCPF focuses on four priority areas: housing and homelessness, education, disaster response and resilience, and capacity building.
