Neurodiagnostic Services

Neurodiagnostic disorders include seizures, strokes, and nerve disorders. Providence Neurodiagnostic Services offers diagnostic testing to help physicians make a more accurate diagnosis and determine how to care for the patient’s condition.

Many people think of seizures as events that cause a person to jerk or convulse. While this is true in some cases, conditions such as dizziness, loss of consciousness and memory loss may also be caused by seizures, even if the patient shows no other signs. Providence Neurodiagnostic Services offers several types of tests for neurodiagnostic disorders.

Diagnosis and Treatment

Providence Neurodiagnostic Services will provide referring physicians with the information for a definitive diagnosis of their patient's neurological disorder and assist in the development of an optimal treatment program. Patients who are appropriate for referral include those who have had undiagnosed neurological symptoms, such as dizziness, loss of consciousness, convulsions or memory lapses.

After referral from a physician, the patient is scheduled for the appropriate neurodiagnostic testing.  Neurodiagnostic technologists monitor and record the patient’s brain waves, eye movement, heartbeat and sleep. By analyzing this data, our specialists can more accurately diagnose the neurodiagnostic disorder and can offer appropriate, effective treatment.
